Your Opportunity

This is a newly created leadership opportunity, offered as a full-time 12-month contract working across our Head Office and village locationswith strong potential for permanent conversion.

As the Head of Clinical Services-Villages,you will be accountable for the leadership, performance and ongoing development of all clinical services delivered across Anglicare Retirement Villages.

Leading a team of Clinical Leads, Allied Health Leadand Senior Clinical Leads, you will ensure clinical services are safe, sustainable, resident-centeredand aligned withorganisationalstrategy, clinical governance frameworks and the For Life model.

Working collaboratively with operational leaders, quality teams,cliniciansand external partners, you will drive excellence in clinical practice while enabling innovation and continuous improvement across the service.

With strategic vision and operationalexpertise, you will:

Clinical Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Lead the safe,effectiveand consistent delivery of village-based nursing and clinical services

  • Ensure residents receive high-quality clinical assessments, care planning,reviewsand interventions

  • Drive excellence across clinical practice areas including care planning, medication support, wound care, continence management, infectionpreventionand clinical escalation

  • Ensure servicesoperatewithin approved scope, governancerequirementsand resident consent frameworks

  • Promote evidence-based practice, resident-centredcareand service consistency across all villages

Clinical Governance, Risk & Quality

  • Provide senior oversight of clinical risk, incidents, complaints, safeguardingmattersand service delivery concerns

  • Monitor service quality through audits, quality indicators, residentfeedbackand operational reporting

  • Lead incident investigations, correctiveactionsand quality improvement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with aged care legislation, standards, clinical governancerequirementsandorganisationalpolicies

  • Drive a culture of accountability,safetyand continuous improvement

Strategic Planning & Service Development

  • Lead the ongoing evolution of the village clinical services operating model

  • Support implementation of the For Life model and future service innovations

  • Identifyopportunities to improve resident outcomes, workforce capability, operationalefficiencyand service sustainability

  • Contribute expert clinical leadership to business planning, servicedevelopmentandorganisationalpriorities

  • Partner with key stakeholders to shape future models of care within Retirement Living

People Leadership & Workforce Capability

  • Lead,mentorand develop Clinical Leads, Senior Clinical Leads and village nursing teams

  • Foster a high-performing culture built on learning,accountabilityand collaboration

  • Ensure workforce capability, competency frameworks and professional development pathways are maintained

  • Provide leadership during periods of change,growthand service transformation

  • Champion Anglicare's Vision,Missionand Values through authentic and values-led leadership

Resident Experience & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with residents,familiesand representatives

  • Partner with Village Managers, Care Service Leaders, General Practitioners,specialistsand allied health providers

  • Ensure residents and familiesremaininformed, engaged and involved in care planning decisions

  • Represent Village Clinical Services across governance,qualityand strategic forums

What You'll Bring

You are an experienced clinical leader with strong operational acumen, exceptional stakeholder engagementskillsand a passion for improving the lives of older Australians.

You will also need:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurseis essential

  • A full driver’s license and own car is essential

  • Amaster's in nursing or equivalentis good to have

  • Significant leadership experience within aged care, retirement living, community health, homecareor a related healthcare setting

  • Extensive experience inaged care legislation, quality standards, clinicalgovernance, qualityimprovementand risk management

  • Experience driving service transformation, workforcedevelopmentand continuous improvement initiatives

  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building and influencing skills

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
