Job Description

MUFG Corporate Markets is seeking an experienced Head of Client Relationships to lead our national client relationship team and drive strategic client engagement across our Registry, and Investor Relations services.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for strengthening client partnerships, maximising revenue opportunities and ensuring exceptional service delivery across our client portfolio.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will play a key role in shaping the client relationship strategy while leading a high-performing team responsible for managing some of the organisation’s most important client relationships.

The Opportunity

As Head of Client Relationships, you will lead and develop the national client relationship team, ensuring clients receive exceptional service while identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and grow revenue across the Corporate Markets offering.

You will be responsible for driving strategic account management, strengthening client engagement and ensuring service delivery aligns with client expectations and commercial objectives. The role combines client leadership, commercial strategy and operational oversight, making it well suited to a senior relationship management leader with strong financial services experience.

This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities

Client Strategy & Growth

  • Lead the national client relationship strategy across Registry and Investor Relations clients
  • Drive cross-selling opportunities across business lines to maximise revenue and deepen client partnerships
  • Develop and oversee strategic account plans for key clients, ensuring strong engagement at multiple levels
  • Identify opportunities for product and service innovation that enhance the client experience

Client Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Ensure exceptional service delivery and retention across the client portfolio
  • Oversee management of key client relationships and strategic engagements
  • Lead client discussions around commercial arrangements, service levels and contractual outcomes
  • Manage and support resolution of client escalations and complex issues

Operational & Commercial Oversight

  • Ensure effective management of client revenue, invoicing and debtor processes
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of client projects including general meetings and major client initiatives
  • Drive operational improvements and efficiencies that enhance client outcomes

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a national team of client relationship professionals
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative and client-focused culture
  • Support capability development, succession planning and talent growth across the team
  • Contribute to workforce planning, budgeting and team performance management

Governance & Risk

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and governance requirements across client activities
  • Identify and proactively manage operational and client-related risks
  • Implement and maintain strong quality controls to support service excellence

About You

You are a senior relationship leader with deep experience in financial services and a proven ability to manage strategic client portfolios while leading high-performing teams.

You bring strong commercial acumen, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to drive growth through trusted client partnerships.

Your experience includes:

  • Extensive client relationship or account management experience within financial services
  • Strong knowledge of the securities, registry, investor relations or capital markets environment
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams in complex organisational environments
  • Experience managing strategic client relationships and large client portfolios
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and identifying cross-sell opportunities
  • Strong commercial judgement and pragmatic risk management capability
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
