The Head of Centre of Excellence/ BESS Market Readiness role is a Central BESS Market & Implementation Readiness Expert ensuring that Alpiq’s BESS projects can be originated, onboarded, and operated compliantly, reliably, and at scale across European markets.
The role acts as a central watchdog, integrator, and risk-prevention function, translating market rules, TSO requirements, regulatory constraints, and project-specific architectures into clear readiness criteria and risk visibility, while preserving country ownership of execution.
The role does not act as a delivery project manager nor as a local execution owner. Overall market readiness accountability remains with Country Heads of Energy Solutions.
The role sits within the Business Technology Transformation team and reports into the Head of BTT.
The role covers all current and future BESS markets and projects, including wholesale power markets, ancillary services, capacity mechanisms, TSO platforms, regulatory requirements, and client- or vendor-specific architectures.
The scope applies to both Alpiq-owned and third-party BESS projects, recognizing that each project is inherently different and cannot be fully standardized.
