Job Description

Head of Capital Product Operations & Systems

Build the AI-enabled operating system behind two capital products already operating at institutional scale.

This company connects homebuilders with institutional capital through construction lending and equity for single-family rental acquisition and asset management. The products and demand already exist. Now the business needs a hands-on operator-builder to transform complex capital work into repeatable systems that make every deal faster, clearer, and smarter than the last.

You will report directly to the CEO and own the workflows, internal tools, automation, and operating discipline that move capital products from term sheet through closing, funding, draws, reporting, and capital-partner onboarding.

Key Details

  • Employment: Full-time
  • Reports to: CEO
  • Location: New York City strongly preferred
  • Compensation: $160,000–$175,000 base salary annually
  • Work model: In-office preferred, followed by hybrid; exceptionally aligned remote candidates will be considered

Why This Opportunity Is Different

The platform includes:

  • $2.5B+ originated and managed across more than 11,000 homes
  • $905M+ in closed loan volume
  • Seven institutional capital partners
  • Two proven capital products with an active pipeline

The next unlock is the delivery infrastructure underneath that scale.

This is not a conventional capital-markets seat, a status-reporting PMO role, or a roadmap-only product position. You will get close to the work, establish control over ambiguity, build practical systems, and drive adoption across teams that may not report to you.

What You Will Own

  • Build the operating system that moves capital products from intake and underwriting through closing, funding, draws, reporting, and ongoing execution.
  • Make ownership, handoffs, dependencies, risks, decisions, and deliverables visible across teams.
  • Turn fragmented intake, qualification, underwriting, approval, and reporting processes into repeatable workflows.
  • Standardize templates, data structures, approval paths, decision records, document flows, and capital-partner onboarding.
  • Build practical internal tools and automations using coding agents such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable technology.
  • Identify where AI can safely accelerate the work—and where institutional judgment and controls must remain human.
  • Partner with origination, underwriting, capital markets, finance, asset management, and executive leadership to ensure the systems are adopted and improve with use.

What Success Looks Like

Within 30 days: You have mapped both capital-product workflows, exposed the major gaps and dependencies, and prioritized the highest-leverage improvements.

Within 60 days: At least one capital product is operating through a clearer delivery system, with better visibility into ownership, progress, and blockers.

Within 90 days: AI-assisted workflows are live in meaningful operating steps, reporting is materially less manual, and completed-deal data is improving how the next deal moves through the system.

What You Bring

  • You have personally led ambiguous, consequential, cross-functional programs involving real dependencies, decisions, risks, and measurable outcomes.
  • You have transformed a recurring, messy workflow into a durable system that other people adopted and could operate without you.
  • You currently use AI in your work and can demonstrate a practical solution you built with Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or a comparable coding agent.
  • You can operate safely within a software-delivery process. You do not need to be an engineer, but you must understand Git, branches, pull requests, testing, review, deployment, iteration, and rollback.
  • You work effectively with incomplete information, limited resources, and no perfectly specified roadmap.
  • You can discover the real internal-customer problem, build the simplest useful solution, and influence adoption without relying on formal authority.

Backgrounds That May Translate Well

Relevant paths include program management, product operations, business operations, implementation, solutions, transformation, chief-of-staff work, forward-deployed roles, internal tools, or capital operations.

Experience with Airtable, Notion, Retool, Zapier, Make, Jira, or similar platforms is valuable when you used them to design and implement an operating system—not simply administer a workspace.

Fintech, specialty lending, private credit, construction lending, structured finance, real-estate finance, capital markets, or another complex regulated environment is helpful but not required.

Capital expertise can be learned. Project ownership, practical AI fluency, hands-on execution, and the ability to productize complex work must already be present.

Location and Work Model

New York in-office is highly preferred, followed by a hybrid arrangement in New York. Exceptionally aligned candidates who can only work remotely are still encouraged to apply.

Compensation

The expected total compensation range is USD 160,000–175,000 Yearly.

Build the System Behind the Platform

If you are the kind of operator who sees the gap, owns the problem, builds the system, and carries it through adoption, this is an opportunity to create foundational infrastructure for a growing institutional capital platform.

At Urrly, fairness matters. We use AI to review every application against the same clear requirements for the role. Candidates are evaluated only on job-related factors such as skills, certifications, and experience, not personal attributes.

About Urrly

Urrly is a portfolio-wide executive search partner for lower middle market private equity firms.

We help PE-backed companies execute faster by hiring target-state leaders. These are executives who have already scaled the exact type of business your portfolio company is becoming.

Our work is most concentrated in operationally complex sectors, including healthcare services and regulated business models, where execution mistakes are expensive and leadership gaps surface quickly.

Traditional executive search optimizes for access and pedigree. Urrly optimizes for execution.

The result is lower leadership risk, faster time-to-impact, and improved exit readiness across the portfolio.
