Job Description

The Head of CapEx Projects is responsible for leading the site’s capital investment portfolio and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic engineering projects from concept through commissioning and handover. The role drives project governance, technical excellence, compliance, and financial performance while supporting the site's long-term business objectives. While the role is locally based, it requires extensive exposure to global engineering networks and close collaboration with international stakeholders across the organization. We are looking for a strategic and forward-thinking leader who can translate business priorities into impactful investment projects. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong ability to navigate change, drive transformation, and foster innovation in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Lead capital investment projects through all phases, from concept and feasibility to execution, qualification, and project closure.
• Manage the site CapEx portfolio, ensuring alignment with business priorities and global engineering strategies.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with GMP, EHS, and engineering standards.
• Drive project governance, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and resource prioritization.
• Lead and develop a team of project managers and engineers.
• Oversee technical design, commissioning, qualification, and operational handover activities.
• Manage investment budgets, forecasts, and project performance reporting.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing operations.

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Significant experience managing CapEx projects in the pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of GMP requirements and engineering project delivery.
• Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong financial, planning, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, knowledge of Spanish language will be considered as a plus.
