The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Buying to lead Oroton’s product strategy across all categories and channels. This is a pivotal leadership role that blends strong commercial acumen with creative vision to shape the future of the brand. Working in close partnership with Design, Retail, Marketing, Planning and Supply Chain, the Head of Buying will define range and pricing architecture, drive financial performance, and nurture a high‑performing Buying team.With accountability for product strategy, margin, OTB and ESG integration, this role plays a key part in ensuring Oroton’s collections remain inspiring, accessible and commercially successful.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Chippendale Head Office in Sydney

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and lead Oroton’s multi‑year product and range strategy across all categories
  • Own price and option architecture to balance margin, accessibility and brand perception
  • Partner with Design to align creative vision with market and commercial insight
  • Own category financial performance including sales, sell‑through, RRP and OTB
  • Lead post‑season reviews and drive continuous performance improvement
  • Identify growth opportunities through data‑led analysis of product and customer trends
  • Lead, coach and develop the Buying team to build high‑performing capability
  • Drive strong cross‑functional collaboration across Product, Retail, Marketing and eCommerce
  • Champion brand integrity and cohesive seasonal storytelling across apparel and accessories
  • Lead ESG integration within product strategy, sustainability initiatives and innovation projects

What we are looking for:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Buying, Product Strategy or Merchandising within premium or luxury fashion
  • Proven success delivering profitable growth across multiple product categories
  • Strong commercial and financial expertise (OTB, margin, price/mix, GMROI)
  • Deep understanding of product development, global trends and customer insight
  • Demonstrated experience integrating sustainability into product strategy
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance vision and hands‑on execution
