Job Description

Position: Head of Business

Industry: Retail / Supermarket Chain

Location: Jakarta


Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end supermarket operations, including supply chain, merchandising, sales, and profit management.
  • Drive business growth and market expansion in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotions.
  • Monitor and improve operational efficiency across all supermarket branches.
  • Ensure strong supplier relationships and effective supply chain management.
  • Manage financial performance, including revenue targets, cost control, and profitability.
  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities in Southeast Asia.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the operations and business teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
  • Report directly to the Board of Directors/CEO with regular business updates and strategic recommendations.


General Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in the retail/supermarket industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (GM Operations, Head of Business, or equivalent).
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale supermarket operations, including supply chain, merchandising, and P&L responsibility.
  • Strong experience in driving business growth, market expansion, and operational excellence.
  • International exposure and experience within the Southeast Asia market is highly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of regional languages is an advantage.
  • This version positions the role as a senior strategic leader, with emphasis on operations, growth, and Southeast Asia exposure.
