Operating nationally and supporting tens of thousands of patients annually through community-based healthcare services, the organisation is entering an exciting phase of expansion. This newly enhanced leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the commercial function, drive strategic partnerships, and make a meaningful impact on patient access to care.
Reporting into senior leadership, this position sits above Regional Business Development Managers and just below Director level, combining strategic leadership with hands-on commercial delivery.
As Head of Business Development, you will take ownership of partnership growth across multiple sectors, leading the development of a scalable commercial function while maintaining direct involvement in high-value strategic opportunities.
You will be responsible for identifying and securing new partnerships, developing referral networks, and driving sustainable business growth through a combination of leadership, relationship management and commercial strategy.

Identify, target and secure strategic partnerships across healthcare and related sectors.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of commercial opportunities.

Ensure consistent execution of business development activity across the team.
Own partnership KPIs including referral volumes, revenue contribution and partnership growth.
Monitor pipeline performance, conversion rates and forecasting accuracy.
Provide regular commercial reporting and insight to senior stakeholders.
Use data-driven decision making to optimise performance.
Lead, coach and develop a small team of field-based Business Development Managers.
Foster a high-performance, commercially focused culture.
Collaborate closely with operational, clinical and marketing teams.
Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences and partner meetings.
Refine partnership strategies based on market feedback and performance data.
Identify opportunities to improve partner engagement, conversion and retention.
Implement best practices across business development and account management activities.
Enhance commercial processes, systems and reporting capabilities.
You are a commercially driven business development leader who enjoys both creating strategy and delivering results.
You are confident building relationships with senior stakeholders, leading teams, and managing complex commercial opportunities. You thrive in growth environments and have a strong track record of generating new business and developing strategic partnerships.
Proven success within business development, partnerships or commercial growth roles.
Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and longer sales cycles.
Previous leadership experience, ideally managing field-based or externally facing teams.
Strong influencing, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Highly self-motivated with a results-driven mindset and commercial awareness.
Experience within healthcare, optical, hearing care, pharmacy, charity or related sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
