Head of Business Development – Commercial Market

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Business Development – Commercial Market to lead the growth of our Low and Medium Voltage Power Distribution Solutions (380V to 52kV) business and drive the development of digital and IoT-enabled solutions across Hong Kong and Macau. This leadership role is responsible for defining market strategies, expanding commercial opportunities, fostering strategic customer relationships, and achieving sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a matrix leader for the Medium and Low Voltage Sales Team to drive the achievement of business objectives and revenue targets.
• Lead the business development initiatives for Low and Medium Voltage Power Distribution Solutions within the commercial market segment.
• Analyse market trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscapes to develop and execute effective business growth strategies.
• Evaluate and introduce appropriate product and solution portfolios to address evolving customer needs and market opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including end users, consultants, contractors, distributors, business partners, and internal teams.
• Drive sales and marketing activities, including customer visits, solution presentations, technical workshops, and tendering processes.
• Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities while strengthening existing customer partnerships.
• Lead strategic account engagement and support major project pursuits across the commercial sector.
• Develop, promote and execute the adoption of advanced digital and IoT technologies and smart power distribution solutions to enhance customer value and operational efficiency.
• Assume responsibility for business performance, annual budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning.
• Monitor sales pipeline health and business opportunities, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
• Ensure all sales and marketing documentation complies with company policies, ISO requirements, and relevant safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
• Promote best practices in governance, compliance, and operational excellence.

Requirements

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded leader to shape the future of power distribution and digital energy solutions across Hong Kong and Macau, while working with customers to accelerate their digital transformation and sustainability goals. The candidates who meet the following requirements are invited to apply

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the electrical engineering industry, with substantial exposure to sales, marketing, and business development functions.
• Proven track record in developing and growing commercial market businesses within the electrical power distribution sector.
• Experience in digital solution development, smart infrastructure, IoT technologies, or energy management systems will be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of the electrical industry, particularly in commercial, contractor, and infrastructure-related businesses.
• Familiarity with international standards and regulations, including but not limited to IEC 62271, IEC 61850, IEC 61439, IEC 60947, IEC 62443 and other relevant industry standards
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level customer relationships and strategic partnerships.
• Strong leadership capability with experience managing cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
• Excellent business acumen, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional membership and active participation in recognized engineering institutions will be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and adaptable to emerging digital technologies, including AI-enabled tools and applications.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
