About the Audit Group

About Our Audit Team

As the Head of Audit Services, you will help support and enhance governance and risk management across the Manulife Group—including MBPS, global functions, Asia, and the Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) segments. You will collaborate with colleagues across 10+ locations in Asia, gaining multicultural exposure while helping shape the future of our audit function.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop the bi-annual audit plan based on risk assessment and regulatory needs.

  • Build and manage relationships with assigned areas, segments, and countries.

  • Assess risk management and internal controls; present issues and recommendations to management.

  • Prepare clear and concise audit reports aligned with audit methodology.

  • Represent Audit in Audit Committees, Risk Committees, and management meetings.

  • Coordinate with regulators and respond to audit-related requests.

  • Manage audits within budget and timelines.

  • Monitor team and departmental KPIs.

  • Lead data analytics usage to improve audit efficiency.

  • Recruit, develop, and coach team members.

  • Follow up on corrective actions for timely issue closure.

  • Ensure audit work meets Manulife’s methodology and IIA Standards.

  • Lead or support regional/department initiatives.

  • Handle other tasks aligned with your skills and development goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 14 years of relevant audit, risk, compliance, or financial services experience.

  • Professional designation (CPA, CA, ACCA, CIA, CISA).

  • Strong knowledge of life insurance, asset management, audit methodologies, and risk practices.

  • Excellent English communication skills.

  • Proven leadership and people management abilities.

  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills in multicultural environments.

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and propose improvements.

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Results-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales and product compliance or actuarial work (valuation, pricing).

  • Understanding of financial services regulations and risks.

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools.

  • Experience working with regulators.

  • Fluency in Chinese, Malay, or Indonesian is an advantage.
