As head of AI, Automation & Data you will be in charge of one of the firm's most strategically significant technology capabilities with end-to-end responsibility for strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement across three practice areas: AI & Automation, Data & Analytics, and Data Engineering.
This is a dual-mandate role: you must be a credible AI and data strategist who can shape the firm's long-term agenda, and an effective people leader capable of building and running high-performance teams.
You will operate at the intersection of business ambition and technical capability, translating complex AI and data concepts into tangible, measurable business value in full alignment with Deloitte's global standards, EMEA governance frameworks, and responsible AI principles.

Working at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and innovation, you will define how Deloitte Belgium leverages AI as a competitive differentiator not just now, but for years to come.

Strategy & Leadership
Define, own, and drive Deloitte Belgium's AI and automation strategy, acting as the firm's internal AI authority and advocate.

Automation Strategy
Champion intelligent automation as a force multiplier across the firm's operations and IT service delivery.

Data Strategy & Governance
Ensure Deloitte Belgium has a reliable, governed, and insight-ready data foundation that underpins both AI and business intelligence ambitions.

Service Ownership
Operate as the accountable Service Owner for the AI, Automation & Data domain within the IT Target Operating Model.

Team Leadership & Culture
Build and lead a high-performing, future-fit AI, Automation & Data organisation.

Stakeholder Engagement
Build the credibility and relationships required to position AI and data as a strategic enabler for Deloitte Belgium in collaboration with EMEA and Global counterparts to leverage shared platforms, align on standards, and contribute to firm-wide AI initiatives.
Let's talk about you

Essential
  • 10+ years of experience across data, AI, or technology leadership, with at least 3–5 years managing multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Demonstrable hands-on expertise in AI/ML: practical experience designing, deploying, or governing AI/ML solutions in an enterprise context — not just conceptual familiarity.
  • Deep understanding of Generative AI and LLM ecosystems: prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG architectures, agentic frameworks, model evaluation, and responsible AI guardrails.
  • Strong command of modern data architecture: cloud data platforms (Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent), data lakes/lakehouses, ELT pipelines, data governance, and BI/reporting stacks.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year AI and data strategies in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Track record of delivering AI, automation, or analytics programmes that generated measurable business value.
  • Experience operating within governance-intensive environments — with strong appreciation for data privacy (GDPR), AI ethics, model risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in professional services, consulting, or a similarly fast-paced knowledge-intensive environment.
  • Hands-on familiarity with the Microsoft AI ecosystem: Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and Azure AI Foundry.
  • Experience with agentic AI architectures — including multi-agent orchestration, tool-use, and AI pipelines integrated with enterprise systems (ServiceNow, SAP, M365).
  • Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and responsible AI standards (EU AI Act awareness, AI frameworks, or equivalent).
  • Exposure to ITSM frameworks (ITIL, IT4IT) and service ownership models.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices: model versioning, monitoring, retraining pipelines, and AI lifecycle management.
