Job Description

Are you interested in leading others and take on one of the most critical transformation roles in Swedbank? At Swedbank, we believe that successful leaders enable us to realize our strategy.

As Head (and Product Manager) of ART (Accounting and Reporting Transformation), you will take full ownership of both the solution and the organization responsible for Swedbank’s next-generation accounting platform. This includes delivering and realizing value from a group-wide Oracle-based general ledger and accounting hub, replacing a complex legacy landscape.

This is the midst of a multi-year, business-critical transformation that goes far beyond technology replacement. It redefines finance processes, data structures, controls, and development in the accounting area. You are the accountable leader for the area – combining strong people leadership with true end-to-end product ownership. Your mandate is clear: deliver a future-proof accounting solution, fully realize its value, and do so at pace.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the financial core of a leading bank — with visibility at the highest levels and real impact on performance, compliance, and future competitiveness

Your responsibilities

  • Be a leader who builds trust, inspires people and shows courage.
  • Aligning your work and the team’s contribution to the bank’s direction and strategy.
  • Take full product ownership of the Oracle platform, with accountability for delivery, quality, and tangible value realization at group level.
  • Lead one of Swedbank’s most significant transformation initiatives – replacing legacy general ledgers and accounting hubs with a unified Oracle-based solution.
  • Drive delivery with intensity and precision, ensuring progress, momentum, and business impact in a complex, high-stakes environment.
  • Own and execute the product strategy and roadmap, balancing business area demands, finance needs, and long-term architectural direction.
  • Ensure the solution delivers real transformation – simplifying processes, improving data quality, strengthening controls, and enabling faster insight.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team and organization, building a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
  • Secure end-to-end alignment across Finance, IT, Data organization and Business/Product areas, engaging senior stakeholders with credibility and clarity.
  • Ensure stability, compliance, and resilience of the accounting platform, meeting the high standards of financial and regulatory control.
  • Actively explore and leverage AI to transform both accounting processes and the way the transformation itself is delivered.

What is needed in this role

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent deep work experience in a related field.
  • A senior leader with a strong track record of owning and delivering complex, business-critical solutions – ideally in Product Manager or equivalent roles with full accountability.
  • Proven ability to drive large-scale finance or accounting transformations, with a relentless focus on delivery and value realization.
  • Deep expertise in banking accounting, including financial reporting, regulatory frameworks, and end-to-end flows from source system to general ledger and onwards to consolidation and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience from ERP implementations in finance, preferably Oracle-based, including data migration, process redesign, and platform consolidation.
  • Strong product mindset – able to define vision and strategy, and translate it into execution with clear priorities, milestones, and outcomes.
  • A delivery-oriented leader who combines structure and pace with the ability to navigate complexity and remove obstacles.
  • Highly collaborative team player with the ability to build trust and alignment across senior stakeholders in Finance, Business and Technology.
  • Curiosity and forward-leaning perspective on how AI and automation can reshape accounting and accelerate transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to modernize legacy landscapes and drive simplification and standardization at scale.
  • A courageous and accountable leader who challenges constructively, takes decisions, and leads through change with integrity.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, fluent in Swedish and English.

With us, you can experience

  • Personal and professional growth through self-leadership and continuous development.
  • Meaningful work that positively impacts our workplace, our customers, and society.
  • An open and collaborative culture that encourages cross-functional teamwork and provides networking opportunities.
  • A supportive and inclusive environment that promotes a balanced and sustainable work-life, with flexible working conditions when suitable for the role.
  • Benefits such as our share based reward program Eken, company pension plan, employee offer for banking products, health insurance.
