Job Description

Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School is in search of a boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach responsible for leading a competitive, faith-centered lacrosse program that supports and advances the mission and values of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. The coach mentor's student-athletes to develop academically, athletically, and spiritually, while fostering sportsmanship, discipline, leadership, and respect both on and off the field.

Essential Functions

Coaching & Program Leadership:

  • Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices that emphasize skill development, teamwork, and player safety
  • Develop game strategies and manage contests in accordance with league, school, and diocesan policies
  • Teach fundamental and advanced lacrosse skills appropriate to the high school level
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team travel, and school-sponsored events

Student-Athlete Development:

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture rooted in Catholic values
  • Serve as a role model and mentor, emphasizing character, accountability, and leadership
  • Monitor and support student-athletes’ academic eligibility and overall well-being
  • Communicate expectations clearly regarding behavior, attendance, and commitment

Program Administration:

  • Assist with team tryouts, roster selection, and player evaluations
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, equipment needs, and budget matters
  • Ensure proper care, inventory, and storage of equipment and uniforms
  • Enforce all school, league, and state athletic association rules

Communication & Community Relations:

  • Maintain open and professional communication with student-athletes, parents, faculty, and administrators
  • Coordinate with athletic trainers and school personnel regarding injuries and player safety
  • Represent the school with professionalism and integrity at all events

Position Qualifications

  • Coaching experience
  • Experience working with high school students
  • Can work collaboratively with colleagues to develop a positive athletic learning
    environment
  • The ability to integrate teamwork strategies

Pay Rate $500 - $1,500 stipend
