Location and Working Environment
This position is hybrid and will require you to be onsite 2 days per week in our Vienna, Austria office.

Purpose & Scope
As Head of Market Access & Government Affairs, Alpine, you are responsible for developing and executing market access, pricing, reimbursement, and stakeholder engagement strategies that enable successful patient access to Astellas products. In this role you will ensure alignment between affiliate, area, and EMEA strategies while providing insights on the healthcare, payer, and political landscape to support informed business decisions and sustainable growth.
In this position, you will lead Market Access and Government Affairs activities in Austria while providing leadership and oversight to the team responsible for Switzerland. You will drive pricing, reimbursement, stakeholder engagement, and policy strategies, working closely with cross-functional and external partners to support successful product launches, improve patient access, and deliver business objectives in an ethical and compliant manner.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the Market Access & Government Affairs team across Austria and Switzerland.
- Develop and execute Market Access and Government Affairs strategies across the portfolio.
- Lead pricing, reimbursement submissions, and market access negotiations.
- Build and maintain relationships with payers, policymakers, KOLs, and industry stakeholders.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and policy initiatives to support business objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, HEOR, Marketing, and Communications.
- Provide market, payer, and policy insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Manage budgets, KPIs, compliance, and team capability development.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive Market Access leadership experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven success developing and executing Market Access strategies.
- Strong knowledge of the Austrian Market Access and healthcare environment.
- Established network and experience engaging with key healthcare stakeholders.
- Demonstrated people leadership and team management experience.
- Strong understanding of pricing, reimbursement, and healthcare legislation.
- Experience working in complex matrix and international organizations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Fluent in English and German.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification such as MBA and/or MSc or equivalent.
