PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The City of Aurora is seeking a dedicated leader to join our team as a Head Lifeguard. You will provide essential first-level supervision to our lifeguard staff and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all pool guests. This role allows you to showcase your expertise by managing guard rotations, facilitating safety trainings, and overseeing daily pool operations. We value your ability to step into an administrative leadership capacity in the absence of a manager to keep our facilities running smoothly. The hiring rate for this role is $19.00/hour.

Head lifeguards provide first level supervision of lifeguard staff and provide next level customer service. The head guard may act as a manager on duty in the absence of a MOD or Supervisor.

The city of Aurora will implement furlough days (unpaid days off) for most employees in 2026. The scheduled furlough dates are January 16, April 10, July 2, and December 24.
