JOB PURPOSE

To lead and manage the segment of Government Linked Companies (GLCs), and public sectors. This role is responsible for driving business growth through tailored financial solutions, strengthening institutional relationships, and ensuring alignment with national economic priorities. The incumbent will champion initiatives that enhance the Group’s positioning as a trusted banking partner for GLCs and public sector clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strategic Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers in GLCs, ministries, statutory bodies, and government agencies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all public sector engagements, ensuring trust and credibility at the highest levels.

2. Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities within GLCs and public sector segments, including financing, treasury, and advisory services.
  • Drive cross-selling initiatives across corporate banking, investment banking, and Islamic banking to maximize value creation.
  • Lead negotiations and structure bespoke solutions that meet client needs while adhering to regulatory and governance standards.

3. Policy & Market Intelligence

  • Monitor government policies, budget allocations, and national development plans to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Provide insights on regulatory changes and public sector trends to inform business strategies.
  • Align the Group’s offerings with government priorities such as sustainability, infrastructure development, and digital transformation.

4. Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all engagements and transactions comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance frameworks.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead a dedicated team focused on GLC and public sector relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal business units to deliver integrated solutions and seamless client experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in banking or financial services, with at least 8 years in strategic partnerships, corporate banking, or business development preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Proven track record in originating and managing large-scale lending portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.
  • Experience working directly with C-suite stakeholders and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels.
  • Professional presence, tact, and diplomacy in representing the Group Corporate Banking and the Bank externally.
