This role heads up the Global Efficiency Programme for the organization and is also driving the Digitalisation Transformation & Business Process within the Logistics division. The position is responsible for leading the organisation’s overall efficiency strategy, driving the enterprise-wide cost optimization agenda, productivity improvement and operational excellence. This role provides strategic direction and establishes strong governance for the programme and ensures alignment across all business units to drive measurable, sustainable improvement that are aligned with corporate objectives. This position is also responsible for driving the digitalization transformation and optimizing internal business processes to enhance operational performance and implementing change management for adoption across the various offices.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Cost Management & Leadership

  • Strategize, develop and lead the organization’s overall efficiency strategy for PIL covering trade, commercial, operations, finance, admin, HR and logistics
  • Drive enterprise-wide action plans to execute cost optimization strategies, productivity improvement and operational excellence.
  • Lead and animate plans to encourage innovation and experimentation to champion and embed culture of continuous improvement and cost-conscious mindset across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management and other business units to establish cost efficiency goals and prioritise action plans.
  • Partner with Business Controllers to analyze costs and coordinate with business units on cost variances and action plans.
  • Monthly update to SMC on progress on efficiency initiatives, challenges and action plans

Efficiency Programme Management & Leadership

  • Lead the entire efficiency programme roadmap, including planning, prioritisation, tracking, and reporting
  • Develop and review the efficiency framework to ensure governance rigour, data accuracy, and transparency in measurement frameworks for integrity.
  • Build strong cross functional partnerships with leaders across HQ, Regional Offices, and Agencies.
  • Drive consensus, secure buy in, and support change management to ensure action plans are materialised.

Digitalisation Strategy and Implementation

  • Strategize, develop and implement comprehensive digitalization strategies for logistics division with alignment with PIL goals and industry best practices
  • Identify digital opportunities and develop digitalization roadmap with relevant stakeholders to explore opportunities for adoption and expansion in HQ and various offices.
  • Ensure implementation and integration are conducted to ensure successful implementation.
  • Build good stakeholder relationships to ensure feedback is tabulated and reviewed by team for continuous improvement.

Internal Business Process Optimisation

  • Lead global process optimization project for equipment and land related processes.
  • Manage overdue processes and performance

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in operations, procurement or supply chanin management
  • Strong governance and adherence to cost efficiency framework
  • Excellent stakeholder management and engagement to get buy-in and consistent delivery of improvement plans
  • Strategic thinker with long term vision and ability to align improvement initiatives with organisational goals
  • Familiarity with the container shipping industry is a plus
