Job Description

The Opportunity:

Head Diagnostics, India will be responsible of developing profitable growth strategy and its execution. This is the senior position in the company and is responsible to maximize profitable growth and establishing Diagnostics business of Avantor as a global marketer of medical diagnostics and IVD products through effective planning, controlling and directing operations to drive achievement of its mid and long term strategy as well as AOPs.

What we're looking for:

Education:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. (Biology/Bio Chemistry/Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology

  • Graduate/ Post graduate and degree in Business Administration

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 - 20 years of experience in managing sales, marketing and operation in various capacities at Pan India level in IVD company

  • Experience of handling large teams

  • Must have handled P&L responsibilities for the business.

How you'll thrive and create an impact:

  • Provide inputs towards formulation of Avantor’s strategy and create a strategic roadmap for Diagnostics division to deliver stakeholder expectations

  • Interface with Marketing and Product Management teams to identify key principal partners whose products are distributed by the Diagnostics business in India (strategically reducing dependence on selected partners) to manage profitable relationships

  • Formulate and drive achievement of Diagnostics’ annual operating plans to deliver revenue, EBITDA and growth targets

  • Manage relationships with government bodies, major customers, industry associations to build a favorable image of Avantor

  • Ensure development of organizational resources, systems and processes to achieve ‘self-reliance’ and drive long term sustainable growth as well as operational efficiency within Diagnostics

  • Ensure compliance with organizational processes as well as regulatory/legal statutory requirements

  • Develop a high performance work environment to build a capable and motivated team in Diagnostics

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ON-GOING FUNCTIONS

  • Identify inorganic/organic growth routes to maintain a healthy pipeline of products; identify targets for acquisition, or form strategic alliances on equity participation basis

  • Develop synergies among the functions to leverage maximum benefit for the business via effective branding, marketing, manufacturing and sales strategies for Diagnostics

  • Initiate the Annual business planning exercise and seek budgets/inputs of various functions

  • Develop a robust Operating and Capital expenses budget to ensure financial resources are budgeted for the growth plans and to effectively monitor it and to take corrective actions

  • Interface with government to keep abreast of regulatory and influence business related policies or get timely clearances for licenses, etc.

  • Interface with trade bodies and industry associations to keep abreast of industry trends and create the right image for Diagnostics amongst the peers

  • Improve processes related to compliance, regulations and other financial matrix.

  • Recruit the right talent for business critical positions and develop them through structured coaching initiatives

  • Review performance management, reward and recognition and career and succession planning decisions for Diagnostics

  • Drive organization and culture building initiatives and support cascade of values/ desired behaviors across Diagnostics

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • MBA / PGDM Marketing
