General Description and

Qualifications:  King’s Way Christian Schools, located in Vancouver, Washington, is a private, Christian school serving students from 12 months to the 12th grade. Our mission is to partner with families to provide a Christ-centered education for the whole child, leading to life change in each student.
We are currently seeking a Head Cross Country Coach to join our Athletics Department. This position supports the core values of King’s Way Christian Schools, and a successful candidate combines spiritual maturity with the ability to impact the lives of high school students. General duties include practice and match coaching, supervision of athletes, scheduling of games, practices, and transportation, communication with parents, and budget management.
Job Duties:
- Conduct and supervise all practices
- Organize and implement a competitive 1A cross country program
- Develop and evaluate athletes
- Responsible for establishing a positive and process oriented team culture
- Ongoing and regular communication with student athletes and parents regarding the program vision, philosophy, schedule, and all important program information.
- In coordination with the Athletic Department, appropriately manage the program budget and track and maintain all equipment and uniforms.
- Supervise student athletes before, during, and after practices and games
- Partner with the Athletic Department to provide an excellent and meaningful student athlete experience.
- Assist in the hiring and training of Assistant Coach(es)
- Plan and execute an off-season schedule.
- Partner with the Athletic Department to organize summer camps, clinics, and other program development opportunities.
- Model Christian character in interactions with coaches, players, referees, parents, and the broader community.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

QualificationsExperience & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of King’s Way Christian Schools
- 2 years of successful coaching experience preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain positive partnerships with the parent community
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to develop and improve coaching knowledge and skills. Willingness to participate in the 3D coaching professional development program.
