We are currently recruiting for an experienced Head Chefto lead a busy and professional kitchen in a Gastro Pub in Buxton. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Head Chefwho takes pride in maintaining high standards, leading a team, and delivering quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.
The successful Head Chef will have strong organisational skills, experience managing kitchen operations, and confidence in stock control and costings.
The menu focuses on traditional pub classics with regularly rotating specials, giving the Head Chef creative freedom to contribute ideas and develop dishes.
Lead the kitchen as Head Chef, ensuring smooth daily operations
Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard
Maintain excellent levels of cleanliness and food safety
Oversee all kitchen sections, from prep to service
Create and develop seasonal specials
Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise waste
Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, and allergen standards
Train, support, and motivate junior team members
Maintain strong communication and timekeeping standards
Minimum 2 years’ experience at Sous Chef or Head Chef level
Strong leadership and team management skills
Experience with stocktakes and kitchen costings
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
£14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
50% off main meals while working
