Job Description

Berjaya Mývatn is looking for an ambitious and experienced leader to head a kitchen team dedicated to delivering outstanding food, service, and memorable dining experiences for our hotel guests.

The hotel operates Restaurant Mylla, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner year-round, as well as Restaurant Gamli Bær, which is open seasonally.

Staff accommodation is available for rent on site.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a Vocational Certificate (or equivalent professional qualification) in Culinary Arts.
• Has solid experience in kitchen management.
• Is an organized, solution-oriented, and positive leader.
• Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is passionate about quality and exceptional guest service.
• Has strong cost awareness and is committed to operating an efficient and cost-effective kitchen.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day management and operation of the kitchen.
• Manage inventory and monitor food and operating costs.
• Ensure the highest standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety are maintained at all times.
• Develop menus in collaboration with management and quality managemet.
• Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff.
• Perform other related duties as required.
