Job Description

Our client, a stylish rooftop restaurant in St Paul’s Bay, is seeking a passionate and hands-on Head Chef to lead the kitchen operations of a small restaurant with approximately 50 covers

The successful candidate will oversee the full kitchen operation, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, hygiene, and service while contributing creatively to menu development and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Oversee the daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth service.
• 
  Develop and execute menus in line with the restaurant’s concept and standards.
• 
  Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team.
• 
  Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented consistently to high standards.
• 
  Monitor stock levels, ordering, food cost control, and waste management.
• 
  Maintain full compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations.
• 
  Coordinate closely with front-of-house staff to ensure an excellent dining experience.
• 
  Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards in all kitchen areas.
• 
  Contribute to ongoing improvements and culinary creativity.

Requirements

• 
  Candidates must be residing in Malta
• 
  Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a restaurant environment.
• 
  Strong leadership and kitchen management skills.
• 
  Passion for Mediterranean and contemporary cuisine.
• 
  Excellent knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
• 
  Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• 
  Strong organisational and communication skills.
• 
  Creative mindset with attention to detail and presentation.
