This high quality care home group based in Leeds has a number of care homes around Leeds that caters for up to 60 residents, providing breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinners for early evening meals, all made fresh in house, including all cakes and pastries, so a knowledge of basic bakery is an advantage.
Working within professional a team of 5 everything is set up here to allow you to succeed, from the very well supplied kitchen and kit, to the fresh food menu's which you will be asked to contribute to designing, to the industry leading support and compliance procedures, everything is in place to allow you to be at your best every day.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Minimum 3 years working within a fresh food led kitchen up to head chef/Kitchen manager
Have a minimum basic DBS check, enhanced the ideal, although the home can gain this for you
Be comfortable being customer facing as the role require consultation with patients for dietary needs
Experience working within a team in a fast paced kitchen environment
Health & safety procedures including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards.
Proven chef and people management experience.
Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication.
Understanding of Allergens, must have allergen certification
Working with fresh seasonal produce
Baking & cake making skills
