We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and innovative Head Chef to lead our clients kitchen team in creating exceptional British cuisine using the freshest ingredients.
The ideal candidate will have worked within a fast-paced Modern British kitchen, be it hotel, restaurant or gastro pub, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Menu Development and Innovation:
Create and regularly update seasonal menus that showcase the best of British cuisine, while keeping with the venues style
Develop new dishes that reflect current food trends while maintaining our commitment to traditional British flavors
Ensure all menu items are consistently prepared to the highest standards
Work closely with local suppliers to source the freshest, highest-quality ingredients
Kitchen Management:
Lead, motivate, and mentor a small team of skilled kitchen staff
Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Implement and maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards
Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction
Quality Control:
Maintain consistent food quality and presentation across all dishes
Conduct regular taste tests and quality checks
Address and resolve any customer complaints or concerns regarding food quality
Financial Management:
Work within allocated budgets for food costs and labor
Analyze and optimize kitchen processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Contribute to the overall profitability of the restaurant
Team Development:
Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
Maintain accurate records of food safety procedures and inspections
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in food safety and kitchen management
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role
Proven knowledge of British cuisine
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
