About the Role

The Head Cashier at Wisconsin Lutheran School-35900 plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all cashiering activities within the institution. This position is responsible for overseeing daily cash register handling procedures, maintaining accurate financial records, and leading a team of cashiers to deliver exceptional service. The Head Cashier ensures compliance with all financial policies and sanitation standards, fostering a safe and trustworthy environment for both staff and customers. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while standing for extended periods. Ultimately, the Head Cashier contributes significantly to the financial integrity and operational excellence of the school’s cashiering functions.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the cashier team to ensure efficient and accurate meal counting
• Stocking and inventory on milk
• Breakfast set up and tear down
• Front of the house cleaning and dishes
• Stocking of condiments and silverware
• Maintain strict adherence to sanitation and hygiene protocols to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Train and support cashiers in customer service best practices and operational procedures.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily inventory paperwork
• Additional tasks as needed or requested by management

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficiency in understanding and speaking English to communicate effectively with staff and customers.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity for operating cashier equipment accurately.
• Ability to stand for long periods during shifts to manage cashiering duties efficiently.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation practices relevant to cashiering and food handling environments.
• Previous experience in a cashier within a retail or educational setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a school or educational institution environment.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems
