POSITIONTITLE: DR Engineering Technician II

DEPARTMENT: Facilities

GRADE/FLSASTATUS: H15/17 – Exempt

REPORTSTO: Supervisor,Engineering

SUPERVISES:Engineering Tech I, II, PM Tech, Engineering Tech in Development,Groundskeeper

Provide direction to Engineering Technicians in order to maintain and repair the casino and hotel facilities, building systems and equipment to the highest possible level of service. Monitor building operation and perform repairs to optimize the player experience and maximize the useful life of the assets. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical or equipment including, boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, piping systems, air handlers, balers, compactors and other components.

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES—ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN II:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, and structuralsystems

  • Maintain records of maintenance and repairs using computerized maintenanceprograms
  • Install new equipment and services asrequired

  • Assist in fabrication of systems andcomponents

  • Weld, solder and braze, as required
  • Assist with maintenance, repairs and operation of the Casino and Hotel facilities, building systems andequipment

  • Abide by safety policies and report safety hazards to departmentmanager

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES--SUPERVISOR:

  • Perform and oversee preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systemsequipment

  • Perform and oversee structural modifications and repairs to all areas of thefacility
  • Ensure a high level of maintenance and preservation is achieved throughout thefacility
  • Prepare and maintains employee workschedules
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings

  • Understand the budgetary process and knowledge of inventory supply andcontrol

  • Acknowledge and respond to internal and external customersimmediately
  • Monitor work environment to detect and correct unsafe conditions and workpractices

  • Interactwithcontractorsandvendorstoensurequalityofworkmanship,competitivepricing,compliancewithrulesandpolicies and ability to meet deadlines

  • Communicate pertinent organizational information to fellow supervisors andsubordinates

  • Prepare requests forsupplies

  • Assure compliance with all applicablecodes

  • Trainsubordinates,providingeachwiththeknowledge,developmentandappropriatedirectiontoperformhis/herresponsibilities
  • Exhibit sound decision-making with emphasis on motivating team and maintaining highmorale

  • Provide continuous positive coaching for development of employees and appropriate correction action whennecessary
  • Ensure timely and accurate performance appraisals and accurate work historyentries

  • Participative memberoftheteambyvolunteeringandbeinginvolvedinprojects,committees,andtaskforcesbyprovidinginput and suggestions

  • Proactive with incidents and issues ensuring resolution withemployees
  • Responsiblefor,oractivelyparticipatesin,theinitiationofpersonnelactionsincludingbutnotlimitedto:interviews,training, candidate selection, terminations, performance reviews, promotions, transfers and disciplinaryactions

  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethicalmanner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired

  • Associates Degree (Technical) or Trade Diploma from an accredited educational institution required or four years mechanical maintenance experience performing PM’s, troubleshooting and repairs in a commercial, industrial or institutional facility on pumps, piping systems, air handlers, boilers, balers, etc. or military experience as AC/HVAC technician rank E-3 or higher required

  • Three years in the field of facility maintenance, preferably in a supervisory or management capacityrequired

  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving recordrequired

  • Must complete Super Lap---score of low/fail may result in a positionbypass

    Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge andskills:

    • Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems, three phase and single phase, up to 600volts

    • BasicunderstandingofHeating,Ventilation,andAirConditioning,(HVAC),operationtoincludebasictheoryofoperation and controls

    • Ability to read and understand blueprints anddiagrams

  • Ability to use technical manuals to diagnose and repairequipment

    • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

    • Excellent oral and written communicationskills

    • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment

    • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personalhygiene

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and gripitems

  • Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with hand and powertools
