Job Summary
The HCM Systems Analyst – Dayforce is a hands-on configuration role responsible for building, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s Dayforce HCM platform across Core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance/Workforce Management, Recruiting, Performance, Compensation, and Learning.
This role serves as a functional and technical Dayforce resource, partnering with HR Operations, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning, HR Business Partners, IT, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective and scalable system solutions.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Dayforce configuration experience and is comfortable independently researching issues, building solutions, testing changes, troubleshooting complex problems, and continuously improving the platform within a complex, global HCM environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Dayforce modules, including:
- Core HR / People
- Payroll
- Time & Attendance / Workforce Management
- Recruiting
- Performance Management
- Compensation
- Learning
- Build and modify Dayforce configuration, including workflows, forms, approval processes, eligibility rules, business rules, security roles, notifications, and other system functionality.
- Translate business requirements into effective Dayforce solutions while considering system scalability, usability, data integrity, and downstream impacts.
- Partner with HR and Payroll teams to design and implement system enhancements and process improvements.
- Troubleshoot complex system, configuration, and data issues; identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
- Support configuration and system administration for recurring HR processes, including payroll, performance reviews, compensation cycles, recruiting activities, learning programs, and employee lifecycle events.
- Perform impact analysis, configuration, testing, and validation for system changes, enhancements, releases, and new functionality.
- Develop and execute test scenarios and support user acceptance and regression testing.
- Monitor Dayforce releases and product updates, evaluate potential impact, and recommend opportunities to leverage new functionality.
- Maintain system security and role-based access in accordance with organizational and data privacy requirements.
- Support Dayforce reporting, data imports and exports, interfaces, integrations, and data validation activities.
- Monitor and maintain data integrity across the HCM platform and assist with identifying and resolving data quality issues.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, simplify workflows, and improve the employee and manager experience.
- Maintain system configuration documentation, process documentation, and change records.
- Provide technical and functional support to HR system users and assist with training and knowledge transfer as needed.
- Partner with Dayforce Support and external vendors to research and resolve product or configuration issues when necessary.
- Participate in HCM projects, implementations, integrations, acquisitions, and other HR technology initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with global stakeholders and team members across multiple countries and time zones.
Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Dayforce certifications are preferred.
- Additional HR technology, payroll, project management, or systems certifications are an advantage.
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant hands-on Dayforce experience will be considered.
Competencies, Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience configuring, administering, and supporting Dayforce in a complex organizational environment.
- Strong Dayforce configuration experience across multiple modules; experience with Core HR and Workforce Management is strongly preferred, with experience in additional modules such as Payroll, Recruiting, Performance, Compensation, and Learning highly valued.
- Experience supporting a global or multi-country HCM environment preferred.
- Ability to independently configure and troubleshoot Dayforce rather than relying primarily on vendor or implementation partner resources.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle, including organizational management, employee data, payroll, time and attendance, recruiting, performance management, compensation, and learning.
- Strong systems-thinking skills and the ability to understand upstream and downstream impacts of system, process, and data changes.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
- Experience with system testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and change management.
- Knowledge of HCM integrations, data imports and exports, APIs, reporting, and data structures preferred.
- Understanding of HR data security, role-based access, and data privacy principles.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear functional and system requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and system integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with a high degree of independence.
- Demonstrated curiosity and resourcefulness, with the ability to research unfamiliar functionality and develop solutions independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
