SUPERVISES:Race & Sportsbook Writer, Race & Sportsbook Cashier
Provide excellent service to customers who place a bet at the Race & Sports Book area.Process all cash transactions quickly and accurately.
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES—WRITER:
Greet customers; input betting information into computer; print ticket; accept money and give ticket and change to customers
Accurately maintains bank
Verifies winning tickets
Handle and solve any concerns and questions by customers
Oversee operations of race and sportsbook area
Explain wagering information when needed
Report all pertinent information directly to the keno/race and sportsbook shift supervisor
Maintain and update betting boards or televisions for customers to view
Delight our guests with outstanding resort level service which includes creating a fun and exciting environment for the guest
Proactive with incidents and issues ensuring resolution with employees and guests
Participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved in buzz sessions, projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions
Other duties as requested to deliver excellent service to internal and external customers
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Display Spotlight behaviors, and present upbeat and positive attitude
Maintain environment of readiness pertaining to supplies, resources, and tools to perform job duties
Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company polices/procedures in an ethical manner
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES--SUPERVISOR:
Supervise all wagering policies of the Race& Sports books
Ensure all AML & Title 3 procedures are followed and accurately tracked
Supervise the function of all personnel in Race & Sportsbook Operations insuring maximum productivity
Coach, guide and instruct personnel in the proper performance of duties
Ensure betting limits are followed
Administer evaluations, performance reviews and merit compensation within established guidelines.
Maintain work schedules for assigned personnel
Oversee personnel development including hiring, training, discipline and administration of merit system
Develop and manage operating plan to ensure operating expenses meet established forecast goals
Monitor competitors’ practices and technological innovations affecting the Race & Sports book betting industry
Remain aware of legislative action affecting business opportunities
Recommend and implement Marketing plans to promote Race & Sportsbook volume
Insure customer recognition and development are foremost duties for all personnel, using tools available appropriately
Ensure that departmental procedures conform to all regulatory requirements and provide maximum security for the company’s assets
Assure facilities and equipment are available and functioning
Resolve any disputes by following posted house rules
Use radio to expedite service and use professional etiquette when talking on radio
Encourage Caesars Rewards participation and sign up guest for whenever possible
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or GED required
Six months experience as a Race & Sports Writer preferred
Six months customer service preferred
Six months money handling experience preferred
Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to subtract, multiply and divide numbers is essential
Attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Willing to learn and to be adaptable
Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
Able to get along with co-workers and work as a contributing member of a team
Organization and time management skills
Excellent oral, written and public communication skills
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
Must be able to attend to multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 5 pounds
Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items
Must be able to stand on feet 8 hours at a time
Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including, PC computers, fax machine and photo copier
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds and air quality including second hand smoke
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
