HC Truck Driver | Metroll Mackay

Metroll is seeking a motivated, safety-focused and customer-oriented HC Truck Driver to join our Mackay team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Dispatch Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of roofing and steel building products to customers across Mackay and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on role that combines driving, customer service and operational support. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is motivated to perform at a high standard and understands the importance of providing a positive customer experience.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm ( with some overtime required)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely operating HC vehicles for local and regional deliveries
• Operating trucks fitted with cranes to safely load and unload products
• Loading, securing and unloading steel products in accordance with safety requirements
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and pre-start checks
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately, safely and on time
• Maintaining proof of delivery documentation and delivery records
• Providing professional and customer-focused service at delivery sites
• Assisting with yard and warehouse duties when required
• Complying with all Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and load restraint requirements
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised vehicle and work environment

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Current HC (Heavy Combination) licence – minimum requirement
• Current Forklift Licence
• Previous experience operating HC vehicles
• Experience operating trucks fitted with cranes
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance
• Understanding of load restraint and transport requirements
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A reliable, punctual and self-motivated approach
• A professional presentation and positive attitude
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
