Who you are:
1. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic, uses a cash register and make change.
2. Must Be able to make beds, bend, stoop, twist, push pull carts and other physical movements.
3. Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
4. Must be able to perform duties in a timely manner consistent with the needs of the residents, , and assigned schedules.
5. Must be able to understand and effectively support and apply DRV policies and procedures as they apply to circumstances that arise.
6. Must be able to communicate effectively with seniors, their guests and DRV staff members.
7. Must be able to work with chemicals safely.
8. Must be 18 years of age or older

General Summary:
The health center laundry aide is responsible for laundering, folding, hanging and delivery of linens and resident personal items.
Keeping laundry areas clean and tidy
Maintaining schedules as provided by EVS director and manager.
This position is 10 hours/ day 4 days a week.
Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 8:30P
Job Duties:
Maintain laundry quality standards in our largest laundry area.
2. Is responsible for the care of resident clothing and linens
3. Vacuuming, mopping, cleaning, removing trash in laundry room.

5. Performs any of the essential laundry
6. Ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned according to schedule
7. Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas.
8. Always follow safety regulations and always follow established infection control and chemical safety protocol.
9. Cleans and maintains assigned work areas and equipment.
10. Maintains and ensures resident items are taken care of and cleaned as necessary.
11. Ensures that all documentation and check lists are competed daily as assigned.
12. Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
13. Attends in-service training and education sessions assigned.
14. completed various side jobs as assigned.

Qualifications
1. Must be able to work independently and as a team.
2. Must have good oral and verbal communication skills and have the ability to
understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
3. Must be able to appropriately prioritize and organize multiple tasks/projects.
4. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with residents, families, staff, community resources, visitors and the general public.
5. Must be highly customer service oriented and dedicated to providing superior hospitality and service at all times.
6. Must be able to project cheerfulness and enthusiasm, maintain a positive attitude and work as a productive member of the Village health care center.
7. Must maintain a professional appearance in compliance with facility personal appearance guidelines.
8. Must be able to read instructions, safety rules, manuals and resident rosters in    English.
9. Must recognize multiple resident laundry needs and prioritized actions to meet those needs, including emergency situations.
9. Must be able to use problem solving skills.
10. Must follow guidelines and policies as outlined in employee policies and procedures handbook.
Working conditions:
1. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves throughout the facility and local community during workday.
2. Must be able to lift and transfer up to fifty pounds.
3. Subject to exposure to infectious waste and disease (HBV and HIV)
4. Subject to exposure to chemicals. Please read MSDS book for detailed description of chemical use.
5. Must be able to push carts and pull barrels.
6. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, involved instructions.
7. Must be able to perform duties under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual or dangerous situations or when working speed and sustained attention are critical aspects of this job.
8. Generally work in well- lighted, well ventilated rooms and halls protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
9. Work around odors.
