Job Description

Clean Harbors is seeking an InSite Technician to support the HHW Programs at our client site in Victoria, B.C The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of tasks associated with packaging and consolidating waste, forklift operation and handling of hazardous materials on the customer sites.

  • Working as an on-site Waste Technician supporting operations at a client location, ensuring the safe collection, handling, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in compliance.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and monitor waste handling areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Collect, identify, segregate, and pack HHW items from both customer sites.
  • Assist customers with the safe disposal of hazardous materials by providing clear instructions, answering questions, and ensuring proper waste segregation procedures are followed.
  • Ensure compliance on behalf of the Comox Valley Regional District.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Holds a valid Class 5 driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Experience in handling Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is a large asset.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and transport materials while following all transportation and safety regulations.
  • Comfortable in labor-intensive work environments including lifting, loading, unloading, and standing for extended periods.
  • Forklift Certification and operating experience highly preferred.
  • Safety Tickets are preferred: TDG, WHMIS, First Aid.
  • Attention to detail, able to take and follow directions and multi-task.
  • Ability to work with Window based applications and interact with customers on a daily basis.
