EnerMech is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Hazardous Area Inspectors for a range of upcoming maintenance, turnaround and shutdown projects across major industrial facilities in the Gladstone region.

As a leading provider of integrated maintenance, engineering and project services, EnerMech supports some of Australia's largest energy, LNG, mining and industrial operations. With a strong pipeline of work anticipated, we are looking to build our network of qualified EEHA professionals to support upcoming campaigns.

About the Role

As a Hazardous Area Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring electrical equipment and installations within hazardous areas remain compliant with relevant standards and site requirements.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting detailed hazardous area inspections of electrical installations and equipment
  • Verifying compliance with AS/NZS and IECEx requirements
  • Identifying defects and non-conformances within hazardous area installations
  • Reviewing inspection records, documentation and asset registers
  • Preparing inspection reports and recommendations
  • Supporting rectification and maintenance activities
  • Working closely with site maintenance and engineering teams
  • Maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality

Requirements

What We're Looking For

To be considered for upcoming opportunities, you will ideally possess:

  • Recognised Hazardous Area Inspection qualification (EEHA)
  • Electrical trade qualification
  • Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence
  • Demonstrated experience conducting hazardous area inspections in industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area standards and compliance requirements
  • Current LVR/CPR certification
  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medicals and drug & alcohol screening

Highly Desirable

  • IECEx Competency Qualifications
  • Experience within LNG, mining, power generation, oil & gas, chemical processing or manufacturing industries
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Inspection and reporting software experience
  • Current Driver's Licence
