Texas Performing Arts at the University of Texas at Austin (TPA) is the nation’s largest and most active university-based performing arts center by annual attendance, budget, and number of events.
Both an anchor institution in Austin’s arts landscape and a nationally significant presenter, TPA operates venues on the University of Texas at Austin campus including Austin’s largest theater, Bass Concert Hall. Its presenting includes Broadway in Austin; an international season of dance, theater, and music; and the Texas Welcomes series of national touring artists. Education is at the core of TPA’s programs, which serve more than 30,000 K-12 students and the 55,000 students of UT Austin.
The Heller Awards for Young Artists (HAYA) is one of Central Texas’s most exciting and impactful cultural programs—a year-round initiative that celebrates excellence in high school musical theatre while expanding access to arts education and building lasting connections among students, educators, and communities.
The HAYA Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the program throughout the year.
This position is available for both work study and non-work student students.
Assist Education and Engagement Manager in the administration of the Heller Awards for Young Artists.
Provide support for the Heller Awards program management system (e.g.,monitoringhelp desk referrals and bug reports,assistingwith calendar and communications updates, etc.).
Assistwith special Heller Awards events - season kick-off, professional development and workshops,judgesretreat, etc.
Assistwith routine data collection, entry, and file maintenance in shared drives.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of annual program timelines, checklists, procedures, and post-season tasks.
Represent Texas Performing Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions.
Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record.Dress appropriately for work in a casual, yet professional environment.
Availability to work scheduled shifts during normal business hours (M-F; 9-5).
Ability toworkoccasional evenings and weekends, as assigned.
Ability to protect student data andmaintainconfidentiality around student information and internal processes.
Ability to learn and adapt to evolving processes and procedures

Familiarity with the Heller Awards for Young Artists and Texas Performing Arts.
