Job Details:

The environment in live hanging is dusty and work is performed with minimal lighting. The temperature in the live hanging area corresponds with the outside temperature. Therefore, work area maybe hot or cold. The live hanging position requires the live hanger to grasp and lift 3.5 pound to 3.75 pound birds from the live-hang belt and hang the birds in shackles. The live- hang belt is at waist height and the shackles travel approximately 16” from the body at shoulder height. There are two lines of shackles each moving at approximately 140 birds per minute. The live hanger must be able to meet the standard of 37 birds per minute. This position requires standing for 8-10 hours. All other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Must have 3 months seniority.
