About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Harvest Manager to join our Night Shift leadership team. This is a key leadership role responsible for leading the Harvest (Kill Floor) operation and delivering outstanding performance across safety, quality, people, animal welfare and production outcomes. Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, you will lead a large operational workforce while developing frontline leaders and driving continuous improvement across one of Australia's largest integrated beef processing facilities.
- Lead and manage daily Harvest operations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant production
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements
- Deliver production plans while achieving throughput, yield, quality and customer specification targets
- Lead, coach and develop Supervisors, Team Leaders and operational employees
- Monitor and improve operational performance through KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare, food safety, export and regulatory standards
- Manage labour utilisation, workforce planning and operational costs
- Collaborate closely with Livestock, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Human Resources and Planning teams
- Identify and resolve operational, quality and people-related issues in a timely manner
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork and continuous improvement
About You
- Proven leadership experience within meat processing, food manufacturing or a high-volume production environment
- Strong knowledge of Harvest/Kill Floor operations
- Demonstrated experience leading large teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production KPIs, labour utilisation, yields and operational performance metrics
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- A commitment to workplace safety, food safety, quality and animal welfare standards
- The ability to build high-performing teams and drive operational excellence
