Hardware/Software Systems Integration Lead

Serve as the technical integrator for the missile‑KV test environment, ensuring that hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) test beds, as well as all special test equipment (EGSE/MGSE), operate cohesively and deliver credible risk‑reduction data.

  • Coordinate HIL/SIL Test Beds – Plan, schedule, and synchronize hardware‑in‑the‑loop and software‑in‑the‑loop activities across subsystem teams.
  • Manage Special Test Equipment – Oversee Engineering Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and Mission‑Critical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) procurement, configuration, calibration, and availability. -
  • Define Risk‑Reduction Test Plans - Work with system engineers to identify high‑risk interfaces and performance margins; develop test matrices that target those risks. -
  • Execute and Monitor Tests – Lead test‑execution crews, capture test data, verify test‑bed fidelity, and ensure test objectives are met.
  • Data Management & Reporting – Consolidate test results, produce status reports, and feed findings back into the systems‑engineering requirements traceability matrix.
  • Safety & Compliance – Ensure all test activities comply with relevant safety standards

Standard Job description

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (MS preferred).
  • 7 + years of experience in hardware‑/software‑in‑the‑loop testing, ground‑support equipment, or similar integration roles on missile, aerospace, or defense programs
  • Proven experience with real‑time test‑bed platforms and embedded software integration
  • Active and Current Secret clearance required. Thus U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills

  • Deep knowledge of EGSE/MGSE design, calibration, and lifecycle management
  • Proficiency in scripting/automation languages
  • Strong problem‑solving ability to debug complex HW/SW interactions under time‑critical conditions
  • Familiarity with risk‑assessment methodologies (FMEA, fault tree analysis) and the ability to translate findings into actionable test plans
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice​

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
