Job Type: Full-time

As an Electronics Hardware Assistant Manager, you will lead a team of hardware engineers responsible for developing reliable, high-performance electronic systems for demanding applications. You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from understanding hardware requirements and defining system architecture to design, component selection, validation, certification, and production readiness.

The role requires close collaboration with software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure successful product development and timely program execution. You will provide technical direction, participate in design reviews, resolve complex engineering challenges, and ensure hardware solutions meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the electronics hardware engineering team, providing technical guidance and supporting professional development.
  • Own hardware design and development activities across architecture, circuit design, PCB development, validation, and product integration.
  • Define high-speed digital architectures using microcontrollers, microprocessors, and FPGA-based systems.
  • Design and review systems incorporating Xilinx, Altera, or Actel FPGAs, associated tools, IPs, and supporting interfaces.
  • Work with components including DACs, ADCs, FPGAs, buffers, transceivers, LDOs, point-of-load regulators, 1553 devices, microprocessors, and microcontrollers
  • Develop and review mixed-signal hardware architectures and ensure appropriate signal integrity and system performance.
  • Work with communication and interface protocols including USB, Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, RS232, and MIL-STD-1553
  • Drive hardware architecture decisions while ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and validate component selection, tolerances, performance, reliability, availability, and manufacturability.
  • Conduct design reviews, technical risk assessments, failure analysis, and design verification activities.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve component, production, and hardware-related issues.
  • Support EMC, ESS, certification, qualification, and product testing activities.
  • Manage hardware development schedules, resources, risks, and technical deliverables to support on-time program execution.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and systems teams for seamless product integration.
  • Engage with customers and technical stakeholders on hardware requirements, design decisions, technical issues, and program progress.
  • Stay current with emerging electronics technologies, components, design methodologies, and industry best practices.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 10+ years of experience in electronics hardware design and development, preferably in complex or high-reliability product environments.
  • BE/BTech or MTech in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong experience in high-speed digital architecture and hardware system design
  • Hands-on expertise with FPGA-based architectures, particularly Xilinx, Altera, or Actel platforms.
  • Strong understanding of microprocessors, microcontrollers, ADCs, DACs, transceivers, buffers, LDOs, POL regulators, and 1553 interfaces
  • Experience with mixed-signal design and high-speed communication interfaces.
  • Good knowledge of USB, Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, RS232, and MIL-STD-1553 protocols.
  • Proven experience leading hardware teams and providing technical mentorship.
  • Strong understanding of PCB design, hardware validation, testing, and product integration.
  • Experience with component evaluation, supplier coordination, manufacturability, and material selection.
  • Exposure to EMC, ESS, qualification, certification, and reliability testing is highly desirable.
  • Strong project planning, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact confidently with customers and cross-functional stakeholders on technical matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage multiple technical priorities and deliverables.
  • Experience in defence, aerospace, space, transportation, industrial electronics, or other high-reliability engineering environments will be an advantage.
