Core Responsibilities:
Design Reviews:
Lead hardware design reviews and provide critical feedback on schematics and layouts to ensure reliability and performance.
Communication:
Work with cross-functional teams (Firmware and Mechanical) to ensure hardware requirements are clearly understood and integrated.
Architecture:
Maintain a clear vision of the hardware system architecture, from power distribution to high-speed data lanes, and lead the team in implementing that design.
Learn & Evangelize:
Stay at the forefront of emerging hardware trends and electronic components, sharing best practices across the engineering department.
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of core experience in high-complexity hardware design (Robotics or Aerospace background preferred).
Schematic & PCB Design:
Expert-level proficiency in multi-layer PCB design (6+ layers) using tools like Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or KiCad.
High-Speed Interfaces:
Strong grip on designing for PCIe, MIPI, USB 3.0+, and DDR4/5 memory interfaces.
Power Systems:
Deep knowledge of designing efficient power delivery networks (PDN) and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
Validation:
Extensive experience with signal integrity analysis and hardware debugging using DSO, Logic Analyzers, and Spectrum Analyzers.
Manufacturing:
Proven track record of taking products from prototype to mass production, including EMI/EMC compliance and DFM/DFT.
Tech Adaptability:
Ability to leverage AI tools (like ChatGPT) to enhance productivity in design documentation and troubleshooting.
