As a Hardware Clerk at Ucluelet Co-op, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized service to our valued members. We prioritize establishing strong relationships with our members and fostering an environment that encourages their continued patronage. What you’ll do:

As a member of the Hardware department team, a Hardware Clerk is responsible for

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product inquiries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Ensure the store and warehouse are neat, clean, and well-merchandised at all times
• Assist with general stock duties in the hardware department, including stocking shelves and facing merchandise to maintain a clean and organized sales floor.
• Perform receiving duties when required
• Have a good working understanding of the till operation
• Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
• Be dependable on all scheduled shifts
• Provide outstanding courteous customer service
• Be familiar with and adhere to all Ucluelet Co-op policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Who you are:

• Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
• Knowledge of home improvement tools and projects is an asset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)

• Physically demanding tasks including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and occasional stair climbing.

  Wage: $18.73 – $22.99 per hour, based on experience.
