The role of an EMC Lab Leader/Supervisor involves overseeing the operations of an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) laboratory. The primary objective is to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the lab, compliance with international standards, and the delivery of high-quality EMC testing services.
• Facility Setup and Infrastructure: Oversee the setup of the lab's physical infrastructure, including EMC Chambers, EMC equipment, and relevant facilities such as power distribution, grounding systems, and electromagnetic shielding.
• IT Infrastructure and Software: Set up the necessary IT infrastructure, including network systems and software applications for data analysis and reporting.
• Recruitment and Training: with strong support from Global EMC experts in leading and developing staff, including responsibility for recruitment of new employees, setting objectives, evaluating performance and expectations, coaching and mentoring, working jointly with employees in the development of their career path, and ensuring that adequate training is provided. Guide Lab engineers on testing, calibration, and debugging as needed to make sure the accurate test data/test report which released to the client on time.
• Accreditation: Manages QA staff for Establishing, implementing, and maintaining a quality management system in accordance with the requirements of 107 Decree and ISO/IEC 17025. Ensure effective control of all documents related to the quality management system, including test methods, manuals, and records.
• Lab Operations Management: Allocate projects to lab engineer based on lan engineer capability matrix. Ensure/supervise test engineers competency in carry out related tests. • Continuous Lab Development: Close coordination with Global Support in providing guidance and performing tests as needed, developing testing methods to meet current and proposed regulatory guidelines, supporting the development of new services by developing testing methods and procedures, conducting research & developing new testing capabilities, and participating in lab development projects.
• Be accountable for the availability, maintenance, and for calibration of testing equipment according to internal or external requirements.
• Study new testing capabilities, participate in lab development project from purchasing step to install the new equipment/facilities
• Develop and maintain a positive work environment for employees.
• Participate in technical training and development activities in Vietnam and NEA to enhance technical and professional skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.• Experience required: 1+ years technical experience in the field of EMC, at least 1 year leadership experience or demonstration of leadership capability.
• Able to Review project independently, has ability of Development, modification, verification and validation of methods and test standards.• Familiar with ISO/IEC 17025 and the basic requirements of various accreditation bodies such as VLAS, FCC, A2LA, etc.• Knowledge of EMC regulations, techniques laws, and accreditation standards for North America, Europe, etc. is required
• Expert and demonstrable knowledge using test equipment such as EMI Receivers, Spectrum Analyzers, Anechoic Chambers, Antennas, etc.
• Have a significant understanding and knowledge of laboratory concepts, practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies and guidelines.• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.• Good team building, training, coaching and mentoring skills.• Energetic personality that can work both independently and with a team in a multi-tasking fast paced environment.
