Job Title Hanger

FLSA Status – Non Exempt

Hangs and tags merchandise for sale.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hangs clothing according to guidelines established by supervisor.
  • Hangs enough to get a minimum of 2,000 items priced per day.
  • Transfers merchandise from production racks to the sales racks.
  • Fills in order positions on the production line as needed.
  • Assists with customer/donor service.
  • Keeps work area clean.
    • Allows 10 minutes before quitting time for sweeping and cleaning up.
  • Performs other duties and special assignments as directed, including assignments, which may be outside the primary area of employment.
  • Reports to the store manager or supervisor.



Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Knowledge of styles and trends.
  • Ability to distinguish men’s clothing from women’s clothing.
  • Ability to consistently hang and tag merchandise rapidly.
  • Ability to observe the production process and to communicate with the supervisor and other team members to keep the production process moving.
  • Ability to present a positive Company image and be courteous to customers.
  • Ability to work as a productive member of a team.

Education and/or Experience Required

  • Experience working with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to work with individuals possessing developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to use good judgment.
  • Energy to take on fast-paced work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good listener.
Physical Demands
  • Works inside in a production and retail environment.
  • Exposure to temperature fluctuations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, stand and move throughout the store.
  • Use upper body strength to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to push or pull clothing racks weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to dust from donations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly standing, bending and stooping and occasionally walking.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to lift the arms shoulder height or above.
