Management Trainee (MT) Programme (24 months)

A fast-track programme for early-career talent who want more possibilities from day one — broader exposure, steeper learning, and a clear runway to leadership.You’ll be immersed in a fast-paced 24-month programme that accelerates your development through hands-on experience, cross-functional exposure and world-class learning that builds the skills that matter.

You’ll build a strong understanding of Hang Seng’s purpose, values and strategy — how we make decisions, serve customers, and deliver sustainable growth. Through bank-wide projects and hands-on experience, you’ll strengthen your commercial and leadership mindset while working on key growth priorities, including AI and digital innovation, and opportunities linked to Hong Kong–Mainland connectivity and development.

You’ll develop core competencies in one of the following business streams:

• Commercial Banking
• Global Markets
• Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited
• Retail Banking and Wealth

Who we’re looking for

• Curious and a fast learner — you ask smart questions, pick things up quickly, and stay open to new tools and new ways of working (especially in tech/AI)
• Accountable with strong ownership — you take responsibility for your tasks, understand how your work contribute to the bigger picture, and deliver high-quality work
• Collaborative — you work well with people at all levels, contribute to shared goals, and help others to succeed together
• Clear and confident in communication — you can explain your ideas simply and clearly, write professionally, and use data to tell a story
• Resilient under pressure — you stay focused, adapt, and keep your standards high

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

• Be available to work full time from July 2027 onwards
• Have obtained, or be expected to achieve, a 2:1 Degree classification or higher or overseas equivalent to this
• Will have completed studies by July 2027
• Be a recent graduate with less than 3 years’ full-time work experience, or be due to graduate by July 2027
• Be fluent in English, knowledge of Mandarin/Cantonese would be an advantage
• Be legally permitted to work in Hong Kong
