Job Description

MAJOR FUNCTION:

The Handyperson, under the direction of the Supervisor or Manager, is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across different areas of a facility. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems, and the capacity to work independently. Quality customer service skills are essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and installing locks.
  • Some plumbing duties.
  • Assembly of furniture and hanging of pictures.
  • Great people's skills.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Some porter work as needed.
  • Weekly meetings with facility manager to review various projects.
  • Maintenance and facility repair.
  • Attend to members of staff promptly when called upon.
  • Safety and security awareness.
  • Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.

  • Engage with leaders and stakeholders.
  • Engage with customers, visitors and clients.
  • Collaborate with other employees.

Requirements (Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Education and/or Experience):

  • Three to five years of related customer service and/or facility services experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to go to different clients' sites and perform general maintenance.
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
  • Attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to work in various physical positions, including standing, sitting, walking, bending and repetitive movement.
