ANNOUNCEMENT OF SERVICE VACANCY

POSITION: Halftime Custodian/Maintenance

LOCATION: Jane Lew Elementary School

QUALIFICATIONS: As per state code 18A-4-8 and county regulations, those presently employed or on the Substitute Custodian List will be given preference (18A-4-8b)

REQUIREMENTS:

*Must be 18 years of age, or older

*High School diploma, or equivalent, pursuant to WV Code §18A-2-5

*Criminal Background check pursuant to WV Code § 18-5-15c

*Applicants must take and pass the State Custodial & Maintenance Competency Exams

JOB DUTIES & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. This position will frequently require the employee to crawl, sit, stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions.
2. This position will require lifting and moving.
3. Clean cafeteria, restrooms and classrooms as assigned.
4. Assigned areas should be free of debris and grounds clean.
5. Make minor, maintenance repairs.
6. Maintain a daily/weekly work scheduled that ensures the buildings and grounds are clean and in sanitary condition.
7. Submit any problem areas within the building and/or grounds that are in need of repair. This could include problems with equipment, cleaning, sanitation, or pest control.
8. Maintain supplies needed for assigned work space.
9. Works safely using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to reduce risk of injury to self and/or co-workers.
10. Must be able to clean & wash floors, walls and ceilings; dust and polish furniture; wash windows; strip, spray, buff, polish and wax floors; wash and clean restrooms; remove trash and furnishings as assigned.
11. Snow removal duties as assigned
12. Maintain positive work habits.
13. Perform any and all job-related duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM

SALARY: As Provided in West Virginia Code 18A-4-8 and 18A-4-8a
