Job Description

The Halal Executive in a hotel environment is responsible for ensuring full compliance with halal certification requirements across all food and beverage operations, including kitchens, banquet services, and storage areas. The role ensures that all processes, ingredients, handling, and service practices adhere to established halal standards while maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

This position oversees banquet and restaurant operations to ensure proper setup, cleanliness, and adherence to both halal and hotel quality standards. The Halal Executive supervises staff to ensure teamwork, monitors grooming and professional appearance, and provides immediate corrective action where standards are not met.

The role requires active coordination with guests, culinary teams, banquet staff, and other hotel departments to ensure all guest needs, including special event arrangements, are fulfilled in compliance with halal requirements. The Halal Executive ensures that all banquet setups, table arrangements, and equipment meet cleanliness, safety, and event specifications.

Key responsibilities include monitoring halal integrity throughout the supply chain—verifying ingredients, preventing cross-contamination, and ensuring proper segregation of halal and non-halal items (if applicable). The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, including halal records, audit logs, and departmental logbooks in accordance with certification standards.

The Halal Executive supports management in human resource functions such as recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, coaching, and disciplinary actions. A strong focus is placed on developing staff awareness and competency in halal practices and hospitality service standards.

Ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and occupational health and safety standards is essential. This includes reporting incidents, maintaining certifications, and participating in internal and external halal audits.

Guest engagement is a critical part of the role. The Halal Executive ensures all guests are welcomed professionally, their needs are anticipated, and services are delivered with respect, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity. Special attention is given to Muslim guests to ensure confidence in halal offerings.

The role requires effective communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail, including the ability to verify information, adhere to quality standards, and operate in a fast-paced hotel environment. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, handling banquet equipment, and performing manual tasks where required.

The Halal Executive is also expected to perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the hotel’s commitment to delivering exceptional halal-compliant hospitality services.
