Job Description

We are looking for a driven and hands-on Site Manager, Finland to establish, lead, and develop Hagmans Nordic’s growing operations in Finland. The Finnish operations are built around Virtasen Maalitehdas in Pargas, a well-established Finnish paint brand that plays an important role in Hagmans Nordic’s future growth plans.

This is a new role created to take over operational, manufacturing, procurement, and warehouse responsibilities for the Finnish operations. The role combines daily operational leadership with a clear strategic growth agenda, including the planned establishment of a new combined manufacturing and logistics site in the Turku area.

The Site Manager reports to Supply Chain Manager at Limhamnshus Industri AB, Hagmans Group and works closely with the CEO of Virtasen Maalitehdas. The role also includes close collaboration with other Site Managers in the group, the wider Supply Chain organization, and a range of external stakeholders.

Basic information

  • Location: Turku area, current site is located in Työkuja 5, Pargas.

  • Work model: The responsibilities of the role primarily require on-site presence. Occasional remote work may be possible when needed, but the role is mainly site-based.

  • Desired starting date: According to agreement.

  • Travelling: Occasional travelling.

  • Employment type: Permanent, full-time role.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for establishing, leading, and developing Hagmans Nordic’s Finnish operations, including both production and central warehouse operations. The role carries responsibility for building a scalable, efficient, and profitable operation, covering health and safety, production, logistics, quality, delivery performance, and financial results. You will also play a key role in the planned new site project and in building stronger logistics and warehouse capabilities in Finland.

The key activities for this role are:

  • Establish and build the operations in Finland, including both production and central warehouse operations, with a focus on a scalable organization, clear processes, and a unified way of working in line with the group.

  • Ensure a safe working environment and drive a strong safety culture in compliance with laws, regulations, and internal requirements.

  • Lead and develop production and warehouse operations to achieve targets in capacity, delivery performance, quality, and cost efficiency, while ensuring efficient and standardized flows.

  • Ensure stable deliveries with high delivery precision and contribute to a strong customer experience.

  • Drive systematic improvement work with a focus on productivity, cost efficiency, and development of ways of working.

  • Be responsible for site performance, budget follow-up, cost management, and profitable growth.

  • Ensure operations are aligned with planning processes and S&OP, with clearly defined lead times and capacity.

  • Build, lead, and develop a competent organization and ensure long-term capability, succession planning, and talent development.

  • Ensure effective interfaces and collaboration across Supply Chain and the broader organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience – What is Hagmans Nordic expecting from you?

We are seeking a leader who is comfortable building and developing operations in a growth-oriented environment. The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership with a strategic perspective and is able to create structure, drive performance, and develop the organization as the business grows.

The ideal candidate has:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Economics or equivalent, or alternatively relevant professional experience.

  • Several years of relevant experience, for example as a Site Manager, Production Manager, Logistics Manager, or in a similar senior operational role.

  • Experience from the manufacturing industry, preferably within process or chemical industries.

  • Strong understanding of production and logistics flows. Experience in growth, transformation, or greenfield/start-up environments is considered an advantage.

  • Experience in structured continuous improvement work, such as Lean, 5S, VSM or similar.

  • Solid experience with ERP systems and digital operational tools.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and build commitment within the organization.

  • A structured and results-oriented leadership style, with the ability to drive change, develop people, and address operational challenges in a practical manner.

  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken. Additional Nordic language skills are a plus, and Swedish would be highly beneficial.

Experience with chemical products, hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or related logistics and safety requirements is considered an advantage. Familiarity with relevant regulations and authorities, such as Tukes, is an additional asset.
