Job Description
Position Summary:
Reporting to the QA Manager, the HACCP Coordinator would primarily be responsible for the maintenance of the facility’s HACCP/QMS system including HACCP plans, prerequisite and BRC programs. In addition, they would be the primary contact for daily CFIA tasks as well as carrying out the necessary training for associates and production management on specific food safety program requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
• Responsible for maintaining the facility’s HACCP plans and prerequisite/BRC programs and facility audits
• Annual reassessment of the Prerequisite, BRC programs and HACCP plans are completed as scheduled and are done in such a way as to ensure all regulatory and/or BRC requirements have been met
• Primary contact for CFIA – requests for information, attendance during swab / sample collection, completion of response to CFIA inspection findings
• Reporting of key quality metrics to QA Manager/Director of QA/FS for Quality Scorecard generation
• Generation of the monthly sanitation audit agenda & report
• Development of training material and reference documents for supervisors and associates to use on-the-floor for instruction on actions to take when deficiencies found
• Training of supervisors/associates based on identified need/requirements of written program
• Responsible for leading and/or assisting the QA Manger in all food safety investigations /risk assessments and completing the necessary documentation requirements using the Food Safety Assessment Report
Requirements:
• Bachelor of science or college diploma in food science or other related science discipline
• Min of 3 to 5 yrs of progressive experience in HACCP role
• Valid HACCP Certification (a must)
• HACCP re-assessment experience (a must)
• BRC internal audit certification (an asset)
• Good understanding of GMP, HACCP principles and government regulations in regards to meat processing
• Computer knowledge and ability to work with various programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to create word documents, spreadsheets, reports and written letters of response
• Organizational skills and the strong ability to multi-task
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as required to conduct training, interact with consumers/customers, present findings and represent the company during audits
• Strong sense of teamwork and ability to work with any functional group of individuals including senior management
Hiring Range: CAD $56,523 - $75,458
Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 7% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions.
Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
