EDUCATION: Ability to read, write, speak, give, and follow written or oral directions in English. High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Fitness Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years of experience in a luxury club, resort, fitness center, recreation facility, wellness center, or hospitality environment, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role. Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required. Valid state driver's license required. Experience with scheduling, team leadership, guest service, recreation programming, fitness operations, and wellness services preferred.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of fitness center operations, recreation programming, wellness initiatives, member engagement, and luxury hospitality standards. Understanding of labor management, payroll administration, scheduling, safety procedures, and facility maintenance. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and club management software systems..

The Sports Club Supervisor assists in overseeing the daily operations of the Sports Club, Fitness Center, Wellness Programs, Group Exercise offerings, and recreation activities to ensure the highest level of member and guest satisfaction. This position provides daily leadership and support to Sports Club colleagues, assists with scheduling and training, ensures facility readiness and safety, and helps execute wellness, fitness, and recreation programming. The Sports Club Supervisor serves as a visible leader within the operation, promoting exceptional service standards, fostering member engagement, supporting revenue-generating programs, and maintaining the luxury experience expected at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. The position works closely with the Executive Director of Wellness and Sports Club Manager to achieve departmental goals, maintain operational excellence, and support the overall wellness strategy.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must have ability to move about the entire property, insuring top quality appearance and service. Capable of moving, carrying and lifting equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

1. Be punctual and maintain consistent attendance.
2. Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
3. Maintain professional appearance, grooming, and personal hygiene standards.
4. Assist with the daily operation of the Sports Club, Fitness Center, wellness programs, recreation activities, and member services.
5. Support the Sports Club Manager in achieving departmental goals, service standards, and operational objectives.
6. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout all Sports Club facilities.
7. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, emergency procedures, and risk management protocols.
8. Maintain knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and departmental safety practices.
9. Assist with scheduling, staffing, payroll administration, and labor management to ensure efficient operations.
10. Provide leadership, coaching, training, and development for Sports Club colleagues.
11. Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance coaching, and disciplinary processes as directed by management.
12. Ensure all facilities, equipment, and amenities are maintained in excellent condition and report maintenance concerns promptly.
13. Assist with implementing and promoting wellness, fitness, recreation, and member engagement programs.
14. Foster strong relationships with members and guests while delivering exceptional hospitality and personalized service.
15. Greet members and guests by name whenever possible and follow the Club's service standards and 10/20 Rule.
16. Resolve member and guest concerns professionally and communicate recurring issues to the Sports Club Manager and Executive Director.
17. Monitor daily operations to ensure high service standards, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
18. Support member onboarding, wellness assessments, fitness consultations, and Technogym app integration initiatives as applicable.
19. Assist in coordinating group fitness classes, recreation programs, personal training services, and special events.
20. Maintain high visibility throughout the Sports Club and serve as a resource for members, guests, and colleagues.
21. Attend and participate in departmental meetings, leadership meetings, training sessions, and safety meetings.
22. Assist in monitoring departmental expenses and operational budgets.
23. Function as Manager on Duty when assigned.
24. Follow all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and departmental operating procedures.
25. Execute responsibilities that support Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond, and luxury hospitality service standards.
26. Perform any additional duties assigned by the Executive Director of Wellness or Sports Club Manager.
