Job Description

Job Location: Overland Park, KS 66223Gym Court Custodian performs custodial work focused specifically on the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of the gymnasium courts and surrounding bleacher areas. This position supports BVRC facilities by ensuring courts are cleaned to high standards for sports leagues, practices, and events. Work is performed independently during evening hours and requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to identify and report facility issues.
Pay: $15.00/hour
Schedule:
- Sunday – Start 7:00 PM, approximately 3–4 hours
- Monday – Start 9:00 PM, approximately 3–4 hours
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pick up trash and debris on and around bleachers.
- Dust or wipe spills and messes on bleachers.
- Sweep and mop under bleachers.
- Dust mop all gym courts.
- Auto-scrub all four courts using a ride-on floor scrubber.
- Ensure all custodial and floor-care equipment is cleaned and plugged in after use.
- Make sure all designated doors are properly closed and locked before leaving.
- Report any maintenance needs, damage, or security concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Work independently and complete tasks within established timeframes.
- Follow all custodial safety procedures, including proper chemical and equipment handling.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent (completion of 12th grade).
At least one year of custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to operate custodial equipment safely (training provided).
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting moderate weights.
Must Pass background check.

The great partnership with the Blue Valley School District allows Blue Valley Rec to contain costs to patrons.
