The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) Campus Operations function is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and exceptional facility operations that support world-class events and guest experiences. Through strong operational oversight, vendor partnerships, and team leadership, Campus Operations ensures the Authority’s facilities are prepared to support events at the highest standards of quality, safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
FACILITY OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR POSITION SUMMARY
The Facility Operations Supervisor – Set-up shall be responsible for the supervision of the Event Set Up program for all interior spaces of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. Under the direction of the Facility Operations Manager – Set-up, this position shall supervise all day-to-day activities of the Set-up Operations including but not limited to event set-ups; storage inspections; equipment inspection and maintenance; employee training and development; and such other functions and duties as assigned by the Facility Operations Manager – Set-up.
FACILITY OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is moderately exposed to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The ability to lift 50 pounds or more may be required of this position. Daily shifts will endure various degrees of walking, standing, turning, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling, requiring a full range of body movements. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
FACILITY OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the Facility Operations Manager – Set-up, provide supervision of the set-up of the interior spaces of the GWCCA in accordance with established departmental procedures. This includes overseeing the daily physical set-up and conversion of numerous meeting rooms, exhibit halls, ballrooms, conference spaces, and multi-purpose areas across the Authority’s campus utilizing stages, chairs, risers, and a variety of tables (rounds, classroom, banquet, conference, specialty configurations) to meet event specifications and client diagrams.
- Assist with the selection of Set-up employees.
- In collaboration with Facility Operations Training Supervisor, train department employees according to established guidelines; provide coaching as required. Training includes proper staging installation, table and chair configuration standards, diagram interpretation, equipment handling, safety procedures, and time management to meet event deadlines.
- Provide leadership for all Operations staff, contractors, and vendors in the maintenance of a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing campus environment.
- Plan, organize, assign, and monitor work assignments for department employees including establishing weekly shift schedules based on business need.
- Conduct regular check-in meetings and end of year performance evaluations with Full-time and Part-time Attendants on the shift.
- Be proactive in the pursuit of continuous improvement to departmental work product by reviewing and making recommendations regarding policies, procedures, and processes.
- Attend weekly departmental meetings as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
- Monitor and maintain accurate payroll records of department employees.
- Research and recommend appropriate materials, supplies, equipment, and services required to fulfill departmental objectives.
- Maintain Operations supplies and equipment following established guidelines.
- Conduct and/or participate in inter-departmental and employee meetings as required to coordinate event activities and plan departmental work.
- Routinely inspect the facility, including the operating status of equipment and inventory of supplies.
- Assist the Facility Manager – Operations with conducting a year-end equipment inventory. Recommend changes necessary to maintain the desired quality performance.
- Position requires the performance of work assignments, which may not be directly related to job specifications.
- Participate in Georgia World Congress Center Authority training programs as required.
- Generate work and labor schedules as required.
- Maintain a professional image that represents the philosophy of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority with emphasis on providing customers with the highest level of customer service deemed possible.
- Perform such other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
FACILITY OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- High degree of integrity, compliance, and self-awareness

- Ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, and manage workload under pressure and with limited resources
- Detail oriented
- Able to lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis.

- Ability to work an irregular work schedule as required to perform duties and responsibilities including weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Knowledge of basic event operations functions in addition to budget preparation
- Interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction

- Ability to build and maintain customer focused relationships with internal and external customers
- Research and interpret relevant information from a range of sources
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience performing event set-up operations within a large-scale convention center, arena, stadium, or similarly sized multi-purpose facility, including hands-on experience setting stages, chairs, and a variety of table configurations across multiple event spaces
FACILITY OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum High School Education or GED
- Two (2) years of College or Technical School degree preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience is required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid Driver’s license required
